Endpoint-Network-Security

Endpoint Security is the term for software or devices that keep devices like computers, tablets, cell phones, etc. safe.

For this purpose you use Antivirus, anti-spyware, firewalls, etc. Some of those are built-in your Operating system and others are installed from third-party like McAfee, Bitdefender, ESET, Symantec, etc.

This software needs a constant internet connection to be able to download the latest definitions to block virus and other malware and help in the case of infection.

The main problem is that most of the software is always “behind” new virus since most of them take advantage of zero-day vulnerabilities or rely on the human error to download software from sketchy sources, etc. This is why is crucial to have a good endpoint security in your business.

That’s when the Network Security comes into play.

Network Security is the term for software or devices installed among all your devices to keep the entire network safe.

Attackers will always try to take advantage of vulnerabilities that exist on the Operating Systems and will try to infect as many devices as possible in your network, hence why you need a network protection.

The Network Security will help you by restricting traffic between devices if one of them is infected with a virus or malware. It will also lock down any open ports, separate public from private networks and make use of Intrusion Detection and Prevention services when possible.

It can also help you by encrypting all the traffic on your network and make sure that only the intended recipient is able to read the information.
